We’ve been there. Standing in front of the bright red and pink wrapped Valentine’s day candy at your grocery store. They beckon you; those 70% off prices cannot be ignored… STOP EVERYTHING. Walk away. ACBM has your sweet tooth covered (without heart problems), chocolate lovers!
Granola is that wildcard ‘breakfast’ food. It is mixed with almost everything from fruit to chocolate. It is usually made with oats, which are high in fiber and health benefits, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the dish is healthy. Lesson 1: All granola is not created equal. There are some recipes with a healthy combination and a not-so-healthy combination, and it’s all about those additional ingredients (and portion sizes).
Granola often gets mixed reviews from health and weight articles because of the amount you put in your body. Our philosophy at ACBM is that you should enjoy the life you live. What’s the point of keeping your body thin if you never want what you put in it? Serve your granola on a low-carb yogurt or with fat-free milk in ¼ cup servings.
On the Dashing Dish, we found a high-fiber, high-protein version of granola that is heart-healthy and taste-bud-approved. (And did we mention it’s gluten-free?)
